In 2015 Diesel Ops was a $950K business with three employees, selling into the automotive diesel market.
Action
Built an online store and expanded to seven sales channels, scaled the team from 3 to 25, and ran the business on weekly meetings and monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.
Result
Revenue grew from $950K to $29M by 2018, while maintaining strong gross and net profit.
What I did
- Channels. Built an online store for the automotive diesel market and sold through seven channels: Dieselops.com, Amazon, eBay, Pricefall, Jet, a walk-in retail storefront, and a B2B dealer network.
- Team. Grew from 3 to 25 employees in three years. Wrote the business plans, hired the staff, developed the marketing strategy, and found new business opportunities.
- Operating rhythm. Weekly company meetings, weekly department head meetings, and monthly, quarterly, and annual goals for every department and individual.
- Culture. Built a culture of accountability across all 25 employees.
- Operations. Oversaw inventory, order processing, and fulfillment as volume scaled.
